SRINAGAR, Mar 7: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 112 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 27,044. With one fresh death being reported from Kashmir division the death toll due to the virus reached 1,962.
Srinagar district reported 35 new cases including 14 travelers followed by Baramulla district 19 cases, Jammu district 15 cases, Budgam district 12 cases, Anantnag district nine cases, Kupwara district eight cases, Pulwama district four cases, Shopian district three cases, Poonch district two cases and a case each in Bandipora, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Udhampur & Reasi districts. A death was reported from Srinagar district in Kashmir valley.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 112 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 19 from Jammu division and 93 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 27,044. Also one COVID-19 death has been reported from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 101 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 26 from Jammu division and 75 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 27,044 positive cases, 892 are active positive, 1, 24,190 have recovered and 1,962 have died; 727 in Jammu division and 1,235 in Kashmir division.
Out of 53, 89,798 test results available, 52, 62,754 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 13, 53,650 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 31,911 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 892 in isolation and 1, 11,674 in home surveillance. Besides, 12, 07,211 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 27,290 positive cases, 410 active positive, 26,418 recovered, 462 deaths; Baramulla has 8,327 positive cases, 83 active positive, 8,069 recovered, 175 deaths; Budgam has 7,926 positive cases, 47 active positive, 7,759 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,885 positive cases, 42 active positive, 5,733 recovered, 90 deaths; Kupwara has 5,700 positive cases, 15 active positive, 5,588 recovered, 97 deaths.
"Anantnag has 5,058 positive cases, 41 active positive, 4,929 recovered, 88 deaths; Bandipora has 4,721 positive cases, 18 active positive, 4,641 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,678 positive cases, 14 active positive, 4,617 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,743 positive cases, 21 active positive, 2,668 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,614 positive cases, 20 active positive, 2,554 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,313 positive cases, 129 active positive, 24,809 recovered, 375 deaths; Udhampur has 4,319 positive cases, 26 active positive, 4,236 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,876 positive cases, 3,821 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,438 positive cases, 3,374 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,266 positive cases, seven active positive, 3,206 recovered, 53 deaths.
"Samba has 2,841 positive cases, seven active positive, 2,794 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,738 positive cases, two active positive, 2,714 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,527 positive cases, seven active positive, 2,496 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, 2,114 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,649 positive, three active positive cases, 1,630 recovered, 16 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 27,044 positive cases in J&K, 12,497 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
