SRINAGAR, Mar 7: Prominent Panchayat members and political activists from Handwara constituency of district Kupwara on Sunday joined Apni Party at its office in Lal Chowk, Srinagar.
The new entrants who joined Apni Party included: Contesting DDC Candidate Abdul Ahad Shah, Alideen Khatana (Sarpanch Bobernag), Abdul Ahad Bhat (Deputy Sarpanch Bobernag), Abdul Gaffar Malik (Ward Member), Sanaullah Chopan (Ward Member), Ghulam Mohammad Mir (Ward Member), Fayaz Ahmad Peer (Ward Member), Abdul Ahad Shah (Ward Member), Shabir Ahmad Shah and scores of political activists from Handwara.
The joining took place in presence of Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Provincial President Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir, State Secretary and District President Budgam Muntazir Mohi-ud-din, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi, District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh, District President Kupwara Raja Manzoor, Vice President District Kupwara Abdul Rasheed Bhat, DDC Member Srinagar Shabir Reshi and Incharge Ganderbal Javid Mir.
Welcoming the new entrants into the party-fold, Bukhari said that the Apni Party since its inception has given prime importance to the matters concerning welfare of the people.
“Apni Party is the party of the people. The party doors are open to all without any discrimination based on community, religion, region or class. We believe it is by uniting the different sections of our society we can build a peaceful and progressive Jammu and Kashmir,” he said. On the occasion, the new entrants thanked the Party leadership for providing them with such a platform and avowed to strengthen the party at grass root level.
