Anil Memorial Cricket tournament concludes

UDHAMPUR, Mar 7: The 3-day long Anil Memorial Cricket Tournament concluded today at Meer-Patan in tehsil Pancheri, district Udhampur.
The tournament was organized by Kulbir Singh, Varinder Singh, Ragubir Singh, Rakesh Sharma and Madan Sharma under "Anil Memorial Cricket Club", with the objective to harness the talent of youth in sports activities and strengthen the police-public relationship.
Jasvir Singh, DDC Councillor Pancheri-Mongri was the chief guest, while Kuldeep Kumar Sarpanch Chulna and Naveena Devi Sarpanch Upper-Meer were the guests of honour.
The tournament concluded with the final match played between Mir Cricket Club and Team Galiote- Nali Nikka. The toss was won by Mir team and it decided to bowl first. Batting first team Galiote-Nali Nikka scored 96/3 runs in 10 overs while chasing down the target of 97, Mir Cricket Club could score only 87/6 in 10 overs and lost the match by 9 runs. The winner team was awarded with trophy and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 while runner up was handed over a trophy along with cash prize of Rs 2200.
The other prizes in the event were the Man of the Series to Rajan from Police Station Pancheri and Man of the Match to Pavitter Singh from Galiote. Each of them were awarded with a medal and trophy.
