JU violates own order
‘Accepts banned degrees for employment’
3/7/2021 11:54:19 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 7: Violating its own order, the University of Jammu continues to entertain degrees obtained from Study Centres for employment in the varsity.
According to the official order issued by the University of Jammu 2005, all degrees issued by study centres and franchises, except IGNOU were banned, but the JU authorities failed to implement its own order within the campus.
“It has come to fore that JU continues to entertain degrees obtained from study centres for employment in the university despite a ban imposed through a notification issued by Jammu University in 2005”, official sources told Early Times.
They said that as per the notification issued by Registrar JU on 5 October 2005, “It’s notified for the information of all the concerned that any course run by study centres/franchises of any University in the country except IGNOU be not recognized”.
Sources said that as per the spirit of this notification, it was crystal clear that any degree obtained from the Study Centre will not be recognized and hence not to be accepted after 2005. “Such degrees are being accepted with impunity even after 2005 for non-teaching contractual employment in connivance with involvement of University employees, who are presently holding higher posts in Jammu University,” sources added.
They urged Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, to order a probe so that credentials of all the non-teaching employees appointed by University of Jammu from 2005 to 2011 are verified.
