| DC Rajouri, Director Horticulture Jammu kick-start ultra-high-density apple plantation drive | | |  Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Apr 3: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan along with the Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak today kick started the ultra-high-density apple plantation drive here at Behrote area of Thanamandi subdivision.
Sub-divisional Magistrate Thanamandi, Dr Zakir Qureshi; Chief Horticulture Officer, Madan Lal; SDPO Thanamandi, besides the officers and officials of the Horticulture Department, Social Activist, Anjum Mirza, Sarpanches, Panches and local farmers were present on the occasion. The Director also interacted with the PRI members and farmers and urged upon them to get acquainted with the modern technologies used in the field of Horticulture. He also made them aware about the benefits of the Ultra high density apples and urged upon them to put in place added efforts to make the plantation drive successful in the district.
While speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Rajouri has a huge potential in the horticulture sector and all possible efforts are being made to boost this sector in the district for the betterment of the farmers.
Deputy Commissioner also said that the District Administration Rajouri is committed to ensuring that the high-density plantation scheme meant to boost apple production is implemented in such a manner that maximum orchardists get its benefit.
The Deputy Commissioner added that more land would be brought under the Ultra high-density apple plantation in future to promote the apple production in the district. |
