GDC Marh holds series of activities to mark World Health Day; Ambedkar Jayanti

JAMMU, Apr 7: NSS unit of Government Degree College, Marh today hosted lectures on the theme ‘World Health Day’ and ‘Ambedkar as a Social Reformer’. The event was held under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’(India @75), under the guidance and supervision of Principal Prof. Aekta Gupta.Floral tributes were paid to Dr. B.R Ambedkar by the Principal and faculty members of the college. The programme was inaugurated with the welcome address by Prof. Aekta Gupta, who spoke on the contribution of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the importance of health and hygiene to fight COVID-19. In the first technical session, the resource person for the lecture was Prof. Ashu Jolly, who enlightened the students about the COVID behavior and motivated students to follow the COVID SOPs and to be the COVID volunteers to aware the masses. In the second session, a symposium was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar. Sachin Bhagat, Nodal Officer ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’, highlighted the role of B.R Ambedkar in nation building. Muskan Chib, Atul Narayan, Simran Koul, Harsh Anand and Madhavan Sharma were the participants in the symposium. Principal, Prof. Aekta Gupta, also flagged off an Awareness Rally about COVID 19, from College to the village Dhateryal. The Programme was organized by Satish Sharma, NSS Program officer, GDC Marh and coordinated by the Committee members. All the senior faculty members and non teaching staff were also present. The programme proceedings were conducted by Prof. Asha Kumari and concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr. Shakun Sharma.
