JAMMU, Apr 7: District Employment & Counselling Centre Jammu organized a Career Counselling cum Awareness Programme at Panchayat Khairi, Block Bishnah.
The resource person from DECC, Jammu, Dushant Singh, Career Counselling Officer guided the participants about various Career Avenues available for the unemployed educated youth.
The Focus of the session was on Self Employment Schemes, various Skill Development Programmes run by the Government and Job Opportunities in Private sector.
Shivali Choudhary, Employment Officer, DECC Jammu spoke on the National Career Service Portal and its relevance for Job Seekers.
The Resource person from ICICI Foundation, Shashi Kapoor guided the candidates about training & placement programme conducted by the Foundation under its CSR Activity.
The Session was hosted by Sarpanch Panchayat Khairi, Vijay Saini and attended by around 100 youth of the Panchayat.
On the spot registration of the unemployed youth was also done. The Employment Department is focusing on conducting similar Counselling Sessions in rural areas to reach the grassroot level and help the rural youth by providing them necessary Guidance & Counselling to increase their employability. |
