RAMBAN, Apr 7: Sheep Husbandry Department, Ramban, today intensified its Enterotoxemia vaccination drive to vaccinate sheep and goats of private breeders of the district prior to migration of their livestock to alpines.
As per the press statement issued by the District Sheep Husbandry Officer Ramban, Dr. Vikas Gupta against the target of 90000 vaccines about 62000 vaccinations have been administered to livestock till now and rest shall be completed in next 10-15 days.
The vaccination is of utmost importance as Enterotoxaemia being a deadly disease; the animal gives no chance of treatment and dies suddenly. The vaccine imparts immunity to the animals for a period of one year. |
