Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 7: District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Kishtwar Pooja Bhandari along with DDC member Palmar visited Dangdoru area of Kishtwar District and inspected the ongoing construction work on Dangdoru-Dachhan stretch of Kishtwar-Marwah road.
DDC Chairperson Pooja Bhandari was accompanied by the officials of special Division R&B. Besides inspecting the progress of the road construction, DDC Chairperson met several deputations enroute at Palmar, Patimallah, Pinjradi and Swarbati. During her inspection to construction of ongoing Dachhan road, she issued directions to concerned executing agency to expedite the construction work and complete the same within three months.
She also held a meeting with COP CVVP at Dangdoru regarding absorption of local unemployed youths in the project. DDC Chairperson pulled up DFO Marwah for denying the bridal path access to the people who are facing problems due to construction of the road.
Speaking to Early Times, Bhandari said that after noticing the slow pace of the work, the contractor informed her that due to triggering of shooting, it is not possible for them to regularly allow the people to use under construction portion of the road, adding that the officials informed that the people should be allowed to use the path through forest area which was denied by the concerned DFO.
She said that they hope that the road up to Dachhan will be completed this year. Bhandari said that the instructions had also been issued to the senior officials of the District Administration to take up the matter of delayed wild life sanction that had created the hurdle in construction of Marwah road since last 45 years, adding that she and other DDC members will personally approach the LG in this regard and will ensure that Marwah road will get wild life clearance.
