DC Ramban reviews Ramzan arrangements

JAMMU, Apr 7: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam Wednesday reviewed the arrangements for ensuing holy month of Ramzan.
Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Dhirendra Sharma; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mohammad Farid Bhat; Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies, & CA, Nasir Ahmad Bhat; Tehsildar HQA, Ashraf Pervaz; Tehsildar Ramban, Mohammad Rafiq and representatives of religious organisations attended the meeting.
Directions were issued to the concurred departments to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply, especially during Sehri and Iftar hours, cleanliness and strict monitoring of quality and rates of essential commodities.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to make adequate arrangements to provide better amenities to the people and intensify market checking to keep check on overcharging of daily-use items like fruits and vegetables. He instructed all SDMs and officers of Municipal Council Ramban and Municipal Committees of Banihal and Batote to intensify sanitation operations, ensure cleanliness in and around the mosques and check market rates.
The DC also passed instructions for the constitution of joint teams of concerned departments to check display/fixation of rates, overcharging and quality of the products especially related to poultry and mutton. The Deputy Commissioner urged the religious leaders to stick to orders issued regarding gathering of people in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases. He assured them all possible facilitation during the holy month of Ramzan.
