SRINAGAR, Apr 8: Large number of devotees, wearing masks and keeping social distancing, from different parts of the Kashmir valley joined the night-long prayers on the occasion of Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Dawood Batmool in Srinagar.
During the five days of Urs, majority people in Batmaloo and adjoining areas turn vegetarian and did not eat meat or chicken.
Devotees from different parts of the Kashmir valley joined night-long prayers at the Khankah near the Shrine of Hazrat Dawood, reciting verses of Holy Quran and Darood Azkar.
Devotees were wearing masks and maintaining proper social distancing during the prayers. The devotees were also provided food and water by the management of the shrine and locals. However, only vegetarian food was being supplied to devotees. Residents of Batmaloo who have migrated to other parts of the city are also not taking meat and chicken during the Urs days. |
