JAMMU, Apr 8: The Civil Engineering Department of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) organized online webinar on the topic "Modern Concrete Chemicals and their Applications for Construction Industry" in association with Ultra Tech. Cement.
The initiative was taken to engage the students during lockdown and enhance their knowledge in the field of construction industry. Two hours session was conducted by Sunil Yadav, manager, technical Admixture System (North), Vaibhav Gupta, North Zone Technical Head.
Ultra Tech. Cement Ltd. facilitated this webinar. More than 70 students of 7th semester Civil Engg and faculty members participated.
Sunil Yadav had a very good interactive session. He deliberated on the various issues like Admixture applications, Water-Cement Ratio, Factors affecting the quality of Concrete, Healing the Cracks, Reduction of Shrinkage, use of corrosion Inhibitors etc. and also threw some light on challenges like Health, Learning, difficulty in practical and on hand training, job opportunities and time to shift way of life due to COVID-19.
Resource persons were welcomed by Rajnish Magotra, HoD, Civil Engineering and vote of thanks was delivered by Kamal Kishore, Assistant Professor. Vidhi S. Singh, chairman, Renu Bangroo, M.D and Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Srivastava, Director appreciated the efforts of Civil Engg Department during lockdown period. |
