Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 8: As Covid situation appears to be going out of control in J&K due to prevailing ‘chaos and anarchy’ in the premier health institutes of the region, the Union Government is likely to depute a team of experts to help the local health experts to check surge of positive cases and increasing mortalities.
On Thursday J&K recorded this year’s highest number of positive cases. During the last three months, it is the first time today that all the 20 districts of the Union Territory were affected with the deadly virus.
Sources said that the Union Government is deputing a team of senior doctors and experts to J&K. Team will help local experts with patient management, treatment protocols, oxygen availability and other medical issues to help manage surge in COVID positive cases.
Fear gripped people as the death tolls as well as the number of positive cases were increasing with every passing day, especially during the last 15 days. On Wednesday J&K had recorded a single-day highest six deaths of this year.
As the fear-stricken Jammu residents flooded social media with posts and videos highlighting Covid situation, authorities were also awaked up from the deep slumber. The Deputy Commissioner Jammu has already declared two institutions namely GGM Science College and Sanskrit Vidhayapeeth as micro contentment zones.
As Covid situation in the UT has been worsening with every passing day due to the influx of tourists and devotees, the Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation and is providing all the necessary support in effectively containing the spread of virus and better clinical management of positive cases.
