Fine imposed on persons without facemask

KISHTWAR, Apr 8: Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma along with SSP, Shafkat Hussain today conducted an intensive market checking drive within the town and fined a number of persons and Shopkeeper found without the face mask.
He was accompanied by ADC, Pawan Parihar, ASP, Mushim Ahmed; EO Municipal Council, Tariq Hussain Balwan; Xen PHE, Anil Kaylu; NT Kishtwar Javeed Khandey besides other officials.
During the inspection at the Bus stand area, District Hospital and various other shopping complexes of the main market of town , the Deputy Commissioner sensitized the shopkeepers, commuters and the general public about the importance of usage of face mask and adhering to social distance norms to contain the spread of COVID-19.
A fine of Rs 300’ each was also imposed upon a number of drivers, commuters, shopkeepers, who were found without face masks by the concerned authorities (EO Municipality and NT Kishtwar). A total fine of Rs 6250 was collected on spot from violators.
He also sensitized people above 45 years of age for inoculation, besides asking all the shopkeepers to co-operate in conducting the random tests and sampling of COVID-19.
He also urged the public to avoid unnecessarily moving out of their homes and ensure following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour all the time.
During the inspection, he also directed XEn PHE to plug leakages in water supply pipes in the town.
EO, MC Kishtwar and AEE PWD Kishtwar were further asked to establish the common sale places for street vendors and Rairi walas at the designated place near the old bus stand within a week of time.
