Kavinder hails SC verdict on Rohingyas, seeks early deportation
4/9/2021 12:56:33 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Apr 8: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Thursday hailed the verdict of Apex Court in a plea filed by detained Rohingya community members challenging their detention and government’s move to deport them to their country of origin.
In a statement issued here, the BJP stalwart welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court claiming it to be historical as far as getting rid of this illegal immigrant community is concerned.
Gupta said that BJP Government at the Centre knows the dangers involved in allowing this illegal immigrant community to continue to live in the country and that is the reason it is pitching for their early deportation.
He said it is open secret that some of the regional political parties of J&K in coordination with one of the mainstream national political party have invited and settled these illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar in J&K for satiating their political aspirations in the UT using old tactics of vote bank politics.
He said that BJP being the nationalist party is bound to stop such ‘seditious’ mechanizations which have the potential to disturb peace and tranquility of the region.
Gupta said that the Apex court verdict has now cleared the legal bottleneck hampering the process of deportation of Rohingyas from the country therefore need of the hour is to frame guidelines as soon as possible to initiate the process of sending this community back to its parent country.
He said that after court’s direction the central government should immediately identify the rest of the members of illegal immigrant community living across the length and breadth of the country so that sooner than later the country gets rid of Rohingyas, who have lately become a threat for the nation as several members of this community were reportedly involved in anti-national activities besides number of others in petty crimes including rapes, thefts, human trafficking, etc.
