Early Times Report

Kathua, June 19: Showing exuberance towards his commitments made with the electorate, Colonel Mahan Singh Chairman DDC Kathua on Friday reiterated that he will fulfill each and every promise made during the campaign trail of the DDC polls.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Col Mahan Singh said that working to resolve the issue of under construction building of Sub District Hospital in Billawar is his priority and he will leave no stone unturned to fulfill the aspirations of the people in accelerating the pace of this project which is lingering since 2015 due to phlegmatic approach of concerned quarters. Work on this project has been stalled for last two years. It is pertinent to mention that construction of new building of Sub District Hospital was started in 2015 in the premises of existing SDH Hospital but till date the same has not been completed due to lack of funds and intent. Around Rs. 7 crore has been spent on the aforesaid project till date and there is still need of another Rs. 22 crore for completion of this project.
Col Mahan said that he has placed the issue before the Director Health, Dr Renu Sharma and she has assured that sooner than later the provision of funds will be made available under Capex Budget as the DPR has already been finalized and the work will be completed thereafter on priority. He said that the existing structure of the hospital is inadequate and the new building is required to cater to the needs of the people of the area in a better way.
The Chairman DDC Kathua said that an Oxygen Generation Plant sanctioned recently for Billawar, will be installed in the vicinity of the Hospital Building as and when delivered. This has been a burning demand of the people of Billawar. Col Mahan Singh asked the people to rest assured that PM Modi BJP led Government in the Centre is committed for sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. The commitments made will see the light of the day sooner than later and there is no need to become apprehensive over the promises made by the party before the DDC polls. He further added that the District CAPEX Budget to the tune of Rs 620 crores has been approved for Kathua for FY 2021-23 which is 123 percent more than last year.
