EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 19: Convenor BJP Trade and Industries Cell J&K, Sham Lal Langar welcomed the initiative taken by the Centre for calling leaders of mainstream political parties of Jammu and Kashmir for All Party Meeting. In a statement issued here today, Sham Lal Langar said that the BJP led government at the Centre has committed to provide equal rights to the people of Jammu region who became the victims of successive regimes of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. It seems to be a good decision that the Centre has invited leaders of all J&K based mainstream political parties as a confidence building measure before taking any decision related to J&K UT. Langar also hailed the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating a delimitation exercise which will end the alleged regional discrimination and give ‘fair play’ a chance to satiate the aspirations of all residing in J&K. He asserted that the time has gone when lopsided decisions by those reining the power corridors rule the roost in J&K. Recalling that Jammu has been consistently remained the victim of successive Kashmir centric governments, Sham Lal Langar said that the Delimitation Commission should adopt a fair and just approach so that there is left no scope for discrimination against Jammu province and its people in future. “The delimitation process without any doubt will ensure equal and balanced political rights to all regions and sub-regions of J&K,” he said, adding that after the successful culmination of delimitation process the alleged gross injustice towards Jammu region by the previous National Conference (NC) Governments through inequitable delimitation of Assembly constituencies will end for once and all. Sham Langar said that whatever good is going on in political arena of J&K is due to keenness of PM Modi, who on several occasions has himself announced that J&K is his priority and he will leave no stone unturned to improve political culture here.
