Deputy Mayor JMC holds various standing committee meetings

JAMMU, July 29: Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, JMC chaired 9th "Housing for All" & "Skill Upgradation & Self Employment" standing committee meetings in the conference hall of JMC.
Adv. Purnima Sharma during the meeting informed the Councillors regarding the ICICI Academy which will help in skill empowerment of the youth along with 85-90% placement. Also a meeting was proposed by the Hon'ble Chairman Housing for All and Skill empowerment and Self employment that a meeting with the ICICI Academy along with the members of the standing committee so that the Corporators can help in being the medium for the youth to enhance their skills and get placed with their acquired skills.
During the meeting members of the standing committee raised many issues which includes payments of the beneficiaries under PMJAY have not been released, no verification has been done by the Housing department, many individuals have not been added in the beneficiaries list even after providing all the necessary documents, many councillors are still unaware about the various skill training programs and other welfare schemes by the centre government.
Also discussion and information was provided regarding newly inaugurated CLC Jammu. Also issue was discussed that many times the service seeker doesn't makes payment to the service provider which caused nuisance.
During the meeting it was proposed that many rehris in the rehri zones and rehri vendors have been causing havoc by throwing garbage in the open nearby area, so in order to avoid these all rehri should have a dustbin along with them otherwise they will be penalized.
Issues regarding parking spaces of many shopping malls including Anutham, Radisson Blu, wave mall and many more as outside many shopping malls the individual park their vehicles on road causing traffic and congestion issues on the roads. Yellow lining to be marked in all the area to mark the boundaries of the roads and to avoid encroachments, also any construction on the area outside the yellow line shall be considered encroached. CTO ensured the chair that the work of yellow line shall be started from 15th August 2021 onwards and will be completed within a time period of 1 months.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by the ACR JMC to the chair.
Councillors Surinder Sharma, Suneet Raina, Surinder Choudhary, Satpaul Karlupia, Jagdish Kumar, Pritam Singh, Amit Gupta, Neelam Nargotra were present in the "Housing for All" and "Skill Upgradation & Self Employment" standing committee meeting along with the officials and representatives from JMC including Miss Avny Lavasa Commissioner JMC, Sudhir Bali Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rajesh Gupta Chief Enforcement Officer, Anil (Executive Engineer Project Division JMC), Harvinder Singh (Chief Transport Officer), Sushil Sharma MVO and officials from Housing Department including DGM, DIC and JKHUDD departments were also present.
