7/29/2021 11:04:58 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 29: Former Minister and Senior Leader Jammu & Kashmir National Conference has expressed its serious concern over the BJP Government at the Centre and in Jammu & Kashmir move to convert Historic Mubarak Mandi Complex into Hotel, in a press statement issued here today.
Opposing this move of BJP Government Sadhotra alleged that BJP is hell bent upon vanishing Dogra History & Culture. He said first BJP divided Princely state into two Union Territories secondly abolished 35-A which was protection for land & jobs security to the people of Jammu & Kashmir and now Govt is converting Historic Mubarak Mandi Complex into Hotel.
He said the people of Jammu & Kashmir have emotional attachment with this Historic Monument as it was seat of power of the Dogra Dynasty and any attempt to convert this Heritage building to a Hotel will create bad blood.
If the building is preserved as Monument thousands of tourists from the country & outside the country will come to see and know about the Dogra History & History of Jammu & Kashmir Princely state.
He asked the Govt. to review its decision of converting this Monument into Hotel and preserve it as Heritage Monument as has been done by the Hyderabad Govt. by preserving Chowmahalla Palace of Nizam of Hyderabad. And Govt. should take up the execution of master plan of this Historical Mubarak Mandi on war footing as crores of rupees has been spent on Mubarak Mandi time to time by different Governments.
