GDC Kalakote organizes online slogan writing competition

KALAKOTE, July 29: Department of Environmental Science in Collaboration with Literary Club and EBSB Club of GDC Kalakote, in the supervision of Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, GDC Kalakote organized online Slogan Writing competition on the theme, "Save the Tiger" to celebrate, "International Tiger Day".
Keeping in view the objective of saving tigers behind celebrating the day, GDC Kalakote organized this online Slogan writing competition as an honest effort to create awareness among people.
The judges for this event were Prof. Priyanka Kumari, Dr. Mohd Shakoor and Dr. Naseer -ud-din Sofi. After evaluating the entries submitted by the participants they declared the top three winners and Manvi Sharma ( B.A. Sem 2nd), Surbhi Raina ( B.A Sem 4th) and Baljeet Singh ( B.A Sem 6th) secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
The top three winners and all the participants will be awarded E- certificates to appreciate their talent and hardwork. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal GDC Kalakote, who while interacting with the students through an online platform highlighted the importance of celebrating International Tiger Day. He talked at length about its history, objectives and the spirit behind celebration of this important day.
Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal GDC Kalakote, further added that since ages, tiger has been a symbol of magnificence, power, beauty and fierceness and has been associated with bravery and valor and this beautiful creature needs to be protected to maintain the balance nature has bestowed upon this planet.
On this note Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal GDC Kalakote, acknowledged the tireless efforts of the Conveners of the organising committees which included Prof. Anayat-Ullah-Khan (Convener EBSB club), Prof. Sheetal and Prof. Marve Sofi, (Conveners of Literary and Environment club) and their team for organizing such events and congratulated all the top three winners and all the participants for successfully showcasing their talent. The programme ended with a vote of thanks presented by Prof. Marve Sofi through an online platform.
