Deputy Commissioner Samba kick starts plantation drive

SAMBA, July 30: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba, Anuradha Gupta today kick started plantation drive by planting different species of saplings at Government High Secondary School, Vijaypur here. Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the District Administration has laid special focus on the plantation across the district this season. “With convergence of line departments like social forestry, forest, RDD, Education and others a detailed plan has been envisaged to carry out the plantation drive” she said. As a part of the plantation drive, different plants were planted in the premises of the HSS Vijaypur and a huge number of plant saplings were distributed among the school staff, general public and others for dissemination of the message regarding plant trees. The DC said that today’s plantation campaign has been started to spread a message for institutional plantation across the district. She added that all District and Sectoral officers have also been directed to ensure plantation in their office premises as well. The Deputy Commissioner Samba lauded the efforts of ITBP company and their representatives for their support and efforts in the plantation drive. Additional District Development Commissioner Tilak Raj Shastri; Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vijaypur, Vinay Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Development Sidharath Dhiman and other officers were present on the occasion.
