Sanitary Inspectors demand early conduction of DPC

JAMMU, July 30: Sanitary Inspectors of Health Department have demanded to conduct Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting through which Sanitary Inspectors are to be promoted as Community Health Officers (CHOs). Addressing a press conference here today, Mohd Nadeem said that as mentioned in the Govt. Order No 200-HME of 2007 dated 23/03/2007 in which it has been clearly mentioned that the posts of CHOs are to be filled by promoting Sanitary Inspector who have completed 5 years of govt services, adding that the last DPC of sanitary Inspectors was held in the year 2008 and since then no DPC of the Sanitary inspectors has been held.
He informed that almost 66 posts of CHOs are lying vacant in Jammu province and no efforts are being made to fill these posts.
He further said that the regular DPCs of other wings of Health & Medical Education Department like Controller of Drugs, Govt Medical College Jammu, Director Family Welfare MCH & Immunization Department, Director Indian System of Medicine Department, but in our case almost 13 years have passed without getting it conducted, reasons best known to the Officers who are at the helms of affairs.
He urged the Health department for early conduction of DPCs and provide justice to the Sanitary Inspectors Nadeem also announced support to the proposed Dharna/Protest programme of Jammu & Kashmir Medical Employees Federation starting from August 3 and 'Jammu Chalo' call of August 24.
Others who were present in the conference included Renu Pathania, Rohit Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Ajay Bal, Hatim Zeeshan, Rajinder Singh and Vijay Kumar.
