CCI comes to rescue of cloudburst-hit from Dacchan, dispatches relief material

JAMMU, July 31: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu on Saturday dispatched relief material for the cloudburst-affected people of Kishtwar’s Dacchan area.
Under Chamber’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, adequate quantity of relief material was flagged of by Mayor Jammu Chander Mohan Gupta in presence of CCI President Arun Gupta and other office bearers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Jammu applauded the philanthropic gesture of the apex body of traders in Jammu in providing succor to the natural disaster victims which have become homeless overnight due to vagaries of weather.
The Mayor appealed to other organizations including NGOs to come forward in this time of crisis to extend a helping to the victims of calamity as the area is situated in remote belt of Kishtwar which is lacking basic facilities including road connectivity.
He said that the endeavour of CCI Jammu will surely inspire others to come forward and share the pain of affected people in whatever way they can.
The CCI President said that the essence behind this initiative is to provide sense of security to the affected people and tell them that entire UT is standing with them at this hour of agony. He also said that people, cutting across community lines should offer help in such situation to the affected lot as they have lost everything they possessed. He however assured that CCI will continue with such endeavours in future also. He also said that if any organization intends to join hands with CCI for this good work, the doors of this traders organization is open and it will provide all kind of assistance to redouble the efforts in such cases.
He however said that the CCI is the first organization which has taken up this initiative to reach out to the cloudburst-hit people of Dacchan area in Kishtwar. He said that CCI is always standing behind the people of Jammu and for that matter the entire country and it will not stop its efforts towards spreading benevolence and compassion in the society.
Meanwhile, the Jammu Chamber has also provided relief material to the Shelter Home, Kalka Bahu Fort as the same affected due to incessant rains and consequent inundation.
Among others who were present on the occasion included Anil Gupta Sr. Vice-President, Rajeev Gupta Jr. Vice-President, Gaurav Gupta Secretary General and Rajesh Gupta Treasurer.
