RAMBAN, July 31: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today said that Ramban district has achieved 100 percent Covid vaccination in the age group of 45 and above category.
Speaking to the media at the weekly press briefing on Covid situation and containment measures, he said over 11250 tests were conducted in the last week across the district, out of which 20 people were found Covid positive.
He said that several teams and the magistrates have been deputed in markets, public places and at all prominent tourist places like Patnitop, Nathatop, Sanasar, Dagantop etc to enforce Covid appropriate behavior.
“The enforcement teams have recovered Rs.37 lakh fine from the violators during the past four months, including Rs.2.80 lakh in last week,” he informed.
Giving further details, he said the Covid positivity rate has dropped to 0.17 percent in the district which is a very encouraging sign.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the vaccination drive for the 18-44 age group has witnessed overwhelming response across the district and a good number of people are taking vaccination doses daily.
The vaccination process will be further scaled up to inoculate all persons of targeted age group, he said.
The DC said that Police and MVD officials are conducting regular checking drives to implement the order regarding plying of vehicles at 50% of total seating capacity.
Referring to relaxation in Covid restrictions in the district, the DC urged the people to adopt Covid appropriate behaviour to avoid another surge in Covid cases.
