| Accelerate completion of major tourism projects in J&K: Tajinder | | |

JAMMU, July 31: Renowned social and political activist Tajinder Singh expressed resentment over the inordinate delay in completion of major tourism projects in Jammu such as Artificial lake on River Tawi, Mubarak Mandi heritage complex, Sanasar lake project. Tajinder said that authorities must accelerate the major tourism projects which are going in a snail pace due to covid19 pandemic or the reason best known to concern authorities as the fountain work in Bagh-e-Bahu in shambles and all the tourist places around Jammu needs renovation. Tajinder said that recent decision to convert the historic Mubarak Mandi complex into hotel under public private partnership mode has generated strong resentment among Jammu masses and converting into heritage can only source to generate revenue but it will lose the identity of Dogra heritage. The need of the hour therefore is to make adequate awareness about architecture, design, historical perspective, location and heritage value of Mubarak Mandi Complex so that people across the country know about it and those visiting Jammu as tourist do visit the Heritage complex and know about the Dogra Heritage, Tajinder added. |
