Director Horticulture reviews developmental schemes

JAMMU, July 31: Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Savak, convened a meeting of Chief Horticulture Officers, District Horticulture Officers, Subject Matter Specialists and Horticulture Development Officers of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Udhampur and Reasi Districts of Jammu Division at Horticulture Complex Talab Tillo, Jammu today.
The meeting was convened to review the progress of various developmental schemes being implemented with special emphasis on the High Density Plantation in the Rainy season during the current financial year in Jammu Division.
During the course of meeting, a threadbare discussion was held at various agenda points and the officers appraised the chair about the status of various works, expenditure incurred, progress made in the implementation of various developmental schemes and assured that they will leave no stone unturned to achieve the target in full.
The Director instructed the officers to ensure better implementation of Departmental schemes for the ultimate benefit of the fruit growers, acknowledge them to avail benefits for transportation of their produce to the respective Mandies and adopt due transparency in this respect. He also emphasized for better and full utilization of funds in time.
He directed them to gear up for High Density Plantation in the sub-tropical zones of these Districts of Jammu Division during the current rainy season covering at least 500 hectare area in each District with the instruction to others to go for identification in the temperate region so that the plantation could be completed in the spring season.
He also directed Chief Horticulture Officer Samba and Kathua to achieve a target of 200 hectare area under Aloe vera plantation in their respective Districts during the current financial year.
Deputy Director Horticulture Jammu, Deputy Director Planning Jammu, Assistant Director Horticulture Jammu and other officers were also present in the meeting.
