NSS volunteers participate in Green Ganesha awareness drive

Jammu, Sept 3: NSS volunteers of GGM Science College along with their Program Officer Dr. Deepali Mahajan participated in the awareness drive at Maheshpura Chowk Bakshi Nagar by Disha Volunteers.
The Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo appreciated the volunteers for their efforts in always contributing to the cleaner greener efforts.
The focus is to do our bit to environment by creating awareness on the positive impact of celebrating the festival with eco-friendly idols. NSS Volunteers prepared Green Ganesha by their own hands and motivated the general public to Use Green Ganesha and Save River Tawi.
The Drive was inaugurated on 1st September and will continue upto 10th September i.e. Ganesh Chaturthi at two locations, Maheshpura Chowk Bakshi Nagar and Main Market Trikuta Nagar Jammu daily from 5 PM to 7 PM.
The volunteers learned how to make Ganesha from the baked clay.
The colours used was raw turmeric powder. Say No to Plaster of Paris and harmful toxic colours. Anchal, Shriya, Sunandini, vanshika, Nancy, kartik, farzana, uzma participated in this green drive.
The eco-friendly Ganesha idols that can dissolve in water, grow into trees, or can be recycled as told by NSS PO.
