PDP holds youth-cum-workers meet in Nowshera

NOWSHERA, Sept 8: Ahead of the PDP President Mehbooba Mufti scheduled visit to Rajouri and Poonch from 14th to 18th September, the People’s Democratic Party today organized a youth-cum-workers meet in Nowshera under the chairmanship of Media Coordinator Ch. Parvez Waffa.
The meeting was addressed by many leaders including Ch Parvez Waffa, Dr Manohar Singh and Varinder Singh Sonu.
On the occasion, the party leaders while listening to the grievances of the people of far-flung areas of Nowshera, observed that the people of the area are suffering from the lack of basic facilities in the area especially due to shortage of drinking water, electricity and road connectivity people have to suffer a lot.
While addressing the gathering, Ch. Parvez Waffa said that the unemployment rate in the region has increased and due to unemployment in the area the youths of the Pir Panchal are suffering from mental trauma and drug abuse has increased in the area but unfortunately government is not serious about the people of this down trodden area.
The District Development Councilor Nowshera, Dr Manohar Singh in his address said that he is thankful to the leadership of PDP who have reached to people of the area and party president have given the consent to visit Rajouri Poonch.
Asserting the party workers to reach out to the masses at the grassroots level, he said that Peoples Democratic Party has proved itself both in power and outside as the only representative of public aspirations.
Varinder Singh Sonu said that there is lot of scarcity of food at CAPD outlets and people have to purchase sugar/grains from open market on exorbitant rates thus making it difficult for poor people.
The other party leaders who were present there included District vice president Ashok Kumar Choudhary, Zonal President Babu Ram, Iqbal Singh and Rajat Randhawa.
