Omar, Bukhari demand inquiry into mysterious death of student in Punjab

SRINAGAR, Sept 14: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Apni Party (AP) president Syed Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday demanded inquiry into the mysterious death of a Kashmiri student in a Punjab college.
Body of Umar Ahad Dave resident of Chewdara, Beerwah , Badgam, a student of RIMT University Gobindgarh, Mandi Ludhiana Road was found in the hanging on the terrace of the college early Monday morning.
National Conference (NC) vice president Omar in a tweet said "The mysterious death of Umer Ah Dev S/o Abdul Ahad Dev of Chewdara, Beerwah (Dist Budgam) in Chandigarh has caused his family & loved ones a lot of distress. I request @DgpChdPolice to have the circumstances of this death fully investigated & the findings shared with the family".
Former minister Bukhari in a statement issued here on Tuesday expressed deep shock and grief over the inexplicable death of a young Kashmiri student and extended solidarity with the bereaved family. He urged the competent authorities in J&K and Punjab to initiate a probe into this matter so that the underlying facts and circumstances which led to the death of the student are revealed.
Bukhari said that such incidents with far reaching consequences need to be properly investigated and the authorities must not leave any angle unexplored so that such incidents are not repeated in future.
