Srinagar, Sept 14: A 35-year-old woman was critically injured in a bear attack in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal on Tuesday.
Official sources said that the bear entered a village at Kangan in Ganderbal on Tuesday from a nearby forest. “Before the villages could react, the wild animal attacked and critically wounded a woman, who was working in a field,” they said.
They said the woman, identified as Shaheena, was rushed to local hospital from where she was referred to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, in a critical condition. “The bear later returned to the forest,” they said.
