KVK Reasi starts certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management

REASI, Sept 14: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of Jammu (SKUAST-J) started 15 days certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) here today at KVK, Reasi campus for input dealers of both Reasi and Udhampur districts. The programme was organised under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-J, Prof JP Sharma and Director Extension, Prof SK Gupta of SKUAST-J. Dr Banarsi Lal, Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi formally welcomed the participants and briefed the objective of the programme. He elaborated the outlines of the programme and spoke on the need of awareness on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) for input dealers as they further can act as extension agents for the farmers. He also spoke on the application of biofertilizers and the formulation of various bio-agents used in organic farming. He stressed on the need of organic farming for the safe and quality food in the present era and emphasized on the vermicomposting technology and other organic formulations. Dr Sanjay Kaushal, Scientist spoke on the Integrated Nutrient Management in crops for more profits and guided farmers on soil analysis.
Rajesh Verma, Distt Agriculture Officer & Nodal Officer Fertilizers, Deptt of Agriculture, Reasi spoke at length on the use of nano fertilizers and digitalization in agriculture. Dr Arvinder Kumar guided farmers on management of soil health and advocated the balance use of manures and fertilizers for more returns. Adarsh Gupta, DDM, NABARD, Reasi spoke on various banking schemes for the farmers.
Sunil Kumar, Agriculture Extension Officer, Reasi spoke on the soil health card scheme and guided farmers about the various other agricultural schemes ongoing in the district. A video show and exhibition on various technologies were also arranged for the participants during the programme.
A special session on farmer-scientists interaction was also organized during which the various quarries were raised by the farmers which were answered satisfactorily by the experts. The programme was assisted by Manohar Lal and concluded by Dr Arvinder Kumar with the formal vote of thanks.
