No Need To Worry
9/21/2021 9:02:16 PM
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Srinagar based Chinar Corps Lieutenant General D P Pandey has ruled out the possibility of Taliban spillover into Jammu and Kashmir and has assured everyone that there is no need to worry.
The GOC stated that for security forces, a terrorist is a terrorist and anyone who picks up the arms will meet his end.
Army and other security forces have been fighting a proxy war sponsored by Pakistan for the past 30-years in Jammu and Kashmir. They have been giving a befitting reply to the adversary. The militants sponsored by the neighbouring country have met their end. Most of them have been neutralized while a few of them have been sent packing. Taliban taking over Afghanistan can lead to Pakistan making an attempt to push these fighters into J&K. It is not a misplaced apprehension. There is every possibility about India’s rogue neighbor planning any sort of misadventure as it has never lived in peace.
Since 1990, Pakistan has sent many foreign militants into J&K but they couldn’t match the skills and the strength of the Indian Army. After getting killed in encounters even their bodies were not taken back by the neighbouring country. When Taliban ruled Afghanistan in 2000, not many Afghans came to J&K to fight, but it doesn’t mean that this time around Taliban would follow the same policy. Influence of Pakistan is clearly evident over Afghanistan and Taliban can fall in the trap of ISI and Pakistan Army. But one thing is for sure that neither the Taliban nor the ultras sponsored by it pose any threat to J&K. Pakistan has lost the proxy war which it has been fighting for the past three decades and the neighbouring country knows very well that it cannot fight the conventional war with India. Another factor which Pakistan needs to bear in mind is that India has changed and if it plans any act of terrorism it would get a befitting reply. Surgical strikes and Balakot airstrikes are glaring instances of India hitting back hard. Pakistan leaders are aware of India’s strength, and they know it very well that India is watching all their activities.
Even if the Taliban spills over to J&K, the Indian Army won’t allow it to spread its tentacles in J&K. If Pakistan doesn’t mend its ways, India will have no other option other than trampling the Line of Control (LoC) to destroy the terror infrastructure and training camps operational in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
