Visiting Union Ministers bridging gap between people, Govt: DDC Chairman
9/21/2021 10:57:54 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 21: DDC Chairman Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi today said that the ongoing Outreach Programme initiated by the central government whereby Union Ministers are visiting J&K to have firsthand knowledge of people's issues is helping out to bridge the gap between government and the subjects of the Union Territory.
In a statement issued to media, Bharat Bhushan said that PM Narendra Modi through this unique initiative has given opportunity to bring to the kind notice of main stakeholders of the government their issues and demands and expect early redressal as their aspirations will directly reach the top hierarchy of the government viz PMO and Ministry of Home Affairs and like in the first phase of the aforesaid programme this time also government will take swift action to satiate people's aspirations without any alteration. "There is no doubt that the top hierarchy will consider the genuineness and the utility of the projections before giving the final nod", he said, adding that the actions taken are likely to give momentum to development process in the UT.
The DDC Chairman said that DDC members are also playing a pivotal role in highlighting ground level issues and working as true representatives of the people. He particularly anticipated that forthcoming visit of Nitin Gadkari will be of great importance as far as accelerating the development projects in Jammu and Kashmir is concerned. He said that people of J&K especially Jammu have been benefitted by the bountiful schemes crafted by the central dispensation and unlike earlier days when schemes were meant only for selected few as there was nothing like transparency in the system, now every single soul is enjoying the fruits of democracy in true sense.
Talking specifically of Jammu, Bharat Bhushan said that district is getting benefits of Central Government schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission and power projects. He said that government is working tirelessly to ensure the crisis of power and water dearth is resolved as early as possible. He said that under Jal Jeevan Mission, BJP is committed to provide tap water to every house hold before the end of 2022.
The DDC Chairman said that ongoing projects of Jammu-Akhnoor and Jammu-Poonch four lanning are on threshold and soon be dedicated to people. "Such kind of massive development was unimaginable under Congress regime, which was famous for scams", he said, adding that projects envisaged under Congress regime took years after years with completion dates getting shifted and cost escalation marring the feasibility so much so that many of those were abandoned without even a brick placed at the site though money kept for the same was skillfully siphoned by the 'corrupt' party.
The senior BJP leader said that in Modi government every project has a completion time period of 1 to 3 years. He said that people should support the policies of BJP government for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir as there is no other entity in the UT or even in the country which can steer the development with such a pace and efficacy.
