GDC Bhaderwah organizes awareness lecture on menstrual health and hygiene

DODA, Sept 21: Women Development Cell of Govt. PG College Bhaderwah organized an awareness lecture cum training session on "Menstrual Health and Hygiene" under the supervision of Dr Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Principal GDC Bhaderwah and Coordinator Women Development Cell Asstt Professor Pinki Kotwal of Physics. The session was conducted in association with corporate partner, Unicharm India, a leading Japanese firm in India existing in the market with the name of Sofy and Mamypoko pants. The resource person for the session was Roshnee Bhowmick CSR Executive Unicharm India. The session entails a comprehensive understanding on the what, why and how of menstruation comprising of meaning of menstruation, develop a biological understanding, talk on related social taboos and aware participants on hygiene practices to be maintained during menstruation. About 100 girl students from the GDC Bhaderwah attended the session to get aware about the theme and there was a thorough discussion on the said topic with the resource person. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Asstt Professor Pinki Kotwal, who also briefed the girl students about the menstrual health and hygiene.
