KATHUA, Sept 21: Government Degree College (GDC) Basohli organized an online lecture on the occasion of "World Day of Peace" under the aegis of "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav" and the auspices of IQAC. The event was systematized under the patronage of Dr Nidhi Kotwal, Principal, GDC Basohli. The event commenced with a welcome address, and brief introduction of the event and the resource person by Prof. Suresh Kumar, HOD Physics. Dr Sarfraz Mir, Chairman, Sir Syed Education Mission was the resource person of the event. He delivered a lecture on the topic "Relevance of World Peace in 2021". He talked about the need for world peace during COVID-19 pandemic and after the Afghanistan episode. He discussed Mahatma Gandhi's non-violence movement as a world peace mission. He also applauded the achievements of Nelson Mandela by means of peaceful movement. At last, he mentioned India Pakistan's role in world peace. A total of 27 students and faculty members participated in the event. The event concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Dr Kehar Singh, HOD Chemistry. |
