JAMMU, Sept 21: NSS unit of GDC Nagrota organized an essay writing competition today to celebrate International Day for Peace and Non-Violence. The event was organized under the aegis of "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahatosav" to commemorate 75 years of India's independence. Dr Attar Singh Kotwal Principal GDC Nagrota, was the patron of the programme. While speaking on the ocassion, he said that it is moral duty of every individual to realize the importance of peace and non violence in the society. A good number of the students took part in the event.
The event was judged by eminent members of the organizing committee including Dr Iqbal Quasim, the incharge of NSS unit, Dr Harmeet Kour, HOD Punjabi and Prof Manisha Kumari, HOD Dogri. The event was judged on the basis of originality and creativity of the students. Komal Verma and Akanksha Wazir clinched Ist whereas Rozilla Sanotra and Palak Sharma clinched 2nd and Simran Lakhnotra scored 3rd position. All the participants were given certificate of participation. |
