PM keen on delivering promises
9/22/2021 10:07:06 PM
Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Smriti Irani, who is on a 2-day visit to Kashmir in connection with the Centre’s outreach programme passed on the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the PM is keen on delivering the promises made by the Union Government to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
After J&K’s transition into a Union Territory, the Centre has taken slew of measures to ensure that benefits of the centrally sponsored schemes reach a common man.
The schemes which never used to reach J&K due to the so-called special status enjoyed by the erstwhile state have become easily accessible for the masses. There has been a significant shift in the ground situation.
The work culture in the government offices has improved as the employees have been made accountable and they have been told in clear terms that if they don’t perform they will have to perish. This has helped a common man in getting his work done at a faster pace. The employees no longer keep the files pending as they are aware about them being under constant watch.
The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has been provided with more teeth and powers. The Bureau is acting promptly on the complaints being received by it. There has been no discrimination as it has acted against the big fishes as well as the small pawns. The anti-graft agencies were not that active during the erstwhile political regimes as they used to work under the political pressure. However, after J&K’s transition into a Union Territory situation has changed and it has changed for the good.
The Centre is focused on J&K’s development and wants the people to prosper. The Union Ministers who are visiting Jammu and Kashmir are collecting the feedback from the officials and the common people. They are trying to meet everyone so that the lacunas, if any, can be filled.
Many foundation stones of new projects have been laid and the projects that were under construction have been completed.
The process of e-tendering has helped in expediting the work and the payments of the contractors don’t remain lingering anymore.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has been leading from the front and has set a benchmark about how to govern Jammu and Kashmir. The J&K is fast turning from a conflict zone into a developed zone.
