DC Ramban reviews progress of RDD works; asks newly registered contractors to participate in e-tendering process

RAMBAN, Sept 22: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam has urged the newly-registered Panchayat contractors and those holding contractor cards to actively participate in the tendering process for execution of works under District Capex, especially related to Area Development Fund/ PRI grants and other sectors. According to the DC, out of 2756 approved works, Administrative Approval for 1946 has already been accorded. He added that 929 works have been tendered out of which only 33 have been allotted so far.
Underlining the need to fast-track allotment of works, the District Development Commissioner said that the remaining AAAs and the tenders shall be floated shortly in e-tendering mode. He said the district Ramban, under special drives, has registered over 700 'D' class contractors enabling them to undertake works up to Rs. 15.00 lakh in 143 Panchayats of the district.
Informing that most of the works fall under the Rural Development sector, he directed the Assistant Commissioner (Development) & the Rural Engineering Wing to accelerate the pace of tendering and allotment of works to create valuable community assets without any further delay.
