Online workshop on J&K RTE Rules concluded

JAMMU, Sept 22: SCERT-J&K Divisional Office Jammu has organized 3-day long Online Workshop on Formulation of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act-2009-Rules, named as J&K RTE Rules 2020, taking a step forward for implementation of Right to Education Act 2009 in the UT of J&K.
Pursuant to the directions of Principal Secretary School Education BK Singh and the guidance of Director SCERT J&K Prof Veena Pandita, a three days Workshop on Formulation of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act-2009-Rules-Regarding, was organized by SCERT- J&K Divisional Office Jammu from September 20 to 22 which concluded today. The workshop was conducted under the control and supervision of Joint Director SCERT Jammu, Surinder Kumar,
In the backdrop of these, SCERT has been asked to conduct a workshop inviting experts/educationists / other stakeholders for comprehensive consultations on aforementioned Rules & Preliminary report, one at Srinagar & other at Jammu so that reservations, if any, be properly incorporated on merits and the proposal be resubmitted to competent authority for approval, perfectly as per needs and aspirations of all the stakeholders as well as general public. It also needs mention that the SCERT has already concluded workshop at Srinagar and this workshop is being conducted at Jammu intending to achieve the desired objectives. The participants were the senior most officers of DIETs of Jammu Division, including educationists/experts/other stakeholders.
Today was the third and the final day of the workshop. The first session was taken by Dr JN Baliya, Head Department of Educational Studies, Central University, Jammu.
Thereafter, there was an Open-ended Question-Answer Session, conducted to the satisfaction of curious participants by Mohammad Rafi (Ex-Director SED Kashmir) wherein the participants raised some valuable points.
The programme was coordinated by PS Billowaria Sr Academic Officer, SCERT J&K Jammu. Irvinder Kour Asstt Professor, SCERT Jammu acted as Convenor. BD Sharma, Vaishali and Sabeta Kohli Sr Academic Officer has been acted as Assistant Coordinators whereas Lovely Sharma, Master was Programme Compiler. The technical support was provided by Akash Khajuria and Yugal Kishore.
The workshop was concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Kishore Kumar, Associate Prof SCERT Jammu.
