DC Kishtwar conducts inspectional tour of Paddar
Interacts with PRIs, SHG, Youth club members

KISHTWAR, Sept 22: As a part of weekly public outreach programme, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today conducted a day long inspectional tour of the far flung area of Paddar to take stock of ongoing works/projects besides interacted with the PRI members and listen to the experiences of Self Help Groups and Youth clubs constituted at each Panchayats.
He was accompanied by DDC member Paddar Hari Krishna; CEO KDA/SDM Chatroo Inderjeet Singh Parihar; SDM Paddar Varunjeet Singh Charak; District Panchayat Officer Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal; Tehsildars Atholi Major Singh; BDO Paddar D M Affaqi, besides officers from police and health department.
On his day-long tour, the DC inspected the ongoing work of the 50 bedded Sub-District Hospital Atholi Paddar. He directed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the pace of work to ensure the work is completed in stipulated time, besides stressed on to adhere to the quality specifications. He directed the Tehsildar Atholi to monitor the pace and quality of work so that a durable public asset could be created in the area.
Later, the DC also inspected the PHC building at village Sohal, Tourism Facilitation Centre, TFC Gulab Garh, Health Sub-Centre building at Gulab Garh and passed a slew of directions to the concerned department.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the delegations led by PRIs and listened to their grievances.
The delegations highlighted their grievances and issues which include distribution of solar lights, rationalization of revenue staff, expediting the restoration work of Machail-Sumcham road, timely payment of MGNREGA wages, streamline the functioning of Sheep Husbandry Department at Paddar, resumption of Hanswar to Kundal Water Supply Scheme work, Sanitation concerns at Gulabgarh, land encroachment at Kundal, etc.
After listening to their grievances, the DC redressed many of them on spot and forwarded rest to the concerned officers. He also reviewed the action taken on grievances raised in previous camps.
While interacting with the Self Help Groups (SGH)formed under NRLM (UMEED), he stressed on enhancing the marketing potential of their local products.
During the interaction with the "Youth clubs" members, rolled-out in the district at Panchayat level, he discussed with them the roles and responsibilities they have to play at grassroots level.
He stressed them to work in the utmost dedication by utilizing their talents to educate the masses about various state and centrally sponsored welfare schemes and make the public deliverance system more accountable and transparent in rural areas.
Reiterating the aim of constituting the Youth Clubs in each panchayat, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar said that engaging the youth in the development process of the district is one of the first priorities of the administration and he urged the youths to become a part of the Youth Clubs.
