DC Samba reviews progress of Road projects, power scenario in the District

SAMBA, Sept 22: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta today chaired a meeting of district officers and reviewed the status of road projects and current power scenario in the district.
Additional District Development Commissioner Tilak Raj Shastri; Chief Planning Officer Sukhleen Kour; Assistant Commissioner Development Sidharath Dhiman; Executive Engineers from PDD, PWD, PMGSY, Project Engineer JPDCL, STD, Power Grid, Assistant Exn of different stations besides field staff were also present.
The Deputy Commissioner, while reviewing the present status of district roads construction plan and power sector, sought a detailed report on the ongoing development works and present position of tendered works.
The DC laid emphasis on providing uninterrupted power supply and provision of motor-able roads to the Schools, Anganwadi centres and other places in the district during the preliminary phase and steadily increasing its ambit. The DC stressed on completion of development works, for which tenders have been finalized, within specified time frame and reducing public grievances.
The DC took a detailed review of the projects undertaken under various schemes like IPDS, PMDP Urban, DDUGJY, PMDP Rural, CRF, PMGSY, languishing, and other schemes. The physical and financial status of all the works under these schemes were reviewed in depth.
The DC further directed officers to make the Area-Wise Curtailment schedule public and ensure power supply strictly as per the schedule. She also directed concerned officers to put in place proper grievance redress mechanisms by way of setting up dedicated control rooms to take note of power and transformer related grievances and coordinate ensure timely redress and dissemination of the information to the general public.
She also stressed upon officers to intensify field inspections and take action against consumers resorting to power thefts through different means, usage of crude broilers, ACs and unregistered load/connections.
