After 67 days, J&K records over 200 Covid cases in a day

Jammu, Sept 22: Even as authorities have given COVID relaxation due to improvement in the situation, for the first time after 67 days, Jammu and Kashmir recorded over 200 single day Corona positive cases on Wednesday.
During the last 24 hours, 204 cases have been reported- 45 from the Jammu division and 159 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total count to 328418.
Earlier on July 16, 203 cases were reported in the Union Territory. For the last two months, J&K is witnessing fluctuated trajectory of Corona cases.
Reports said that Srinagar reported 80 cases, Baramulla 14, Budgam 28, Pulwama 7, Kupwara 4, Anantnag 5, Bandipora 7, Ganderbal 14, Kulgam 0, Shopian 0, Jammu 4, Udhampur 1, Rajouri 4, Doda 1, Kathua 1, Samba 4, Kishtwar 1, Poonch 1, Ramban 0 and Reasi 28.
Moreover, reports said that 118 more COVID-19 patients have recovered during the time—17 from Jammu Division and 101 from Kashmir. So far 322463 people have recovered and 4419 died—2172 in Jammu and 2247 in Kashmir. There are now 1536 active cases—246 in Jammu and 1290 in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, there was no fresh confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today, they said. So far 46 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials added.
As Srinagar recording, nearly 50 percent of the total COVID positive cases in J&K, authorities conducted surprise checking at various markets on the third successive day to inspect the implementation of Covid-19 SOPs to combat the possible third wave of COVID-19, as predicted by the Medical experts.
“Over 30 Business establishments sealed in Srinagar for violation of CAB. DC, SSP Sgr conduct joint surprise inspection of public places. District Admin tightens Containment measures”, the Twitter handle of Srinagar district administration tweeted on Wednesday.
The inspection was carried out to take stock of the implementation of various COVID-19 related advisories and guidelines including the use of face masks, maintaining social distancing in various business establishments and other public places.
