Reasi completes 707 houses under PMAY-G in Sept month this year
Rs 7.00 crore disbursed among beneficiaries for completing houses

REASI, Oct 6: Signifying a major achievement a total of 707 houses have been completed in district Reasi under Pardhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen (PMAY-G) in the month of September this year after disbursing Rs. 7.00 crore among the beneficiaries.
This was informed in a meeting convened by Deputy Commissioner Charandeep Singh to review the achievements under PMAY scheme in rural and urban areas of the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Jyoti Salathia; ACD Dr. Anirudh Rai, besides Chief Planning Officer, CEO MC Reasi, CEO MC Katra, Block Development Officers and other officers dealing with PMAY scheme in the district.
The meeting further informed that a total of 3700 houses have been completed and work on remaining 6015 was in progress in all the blocks of district since the launch of the scheme.
As many as 177 houses have been completed in block Chasana; 156 in block Mahore, 136 in Block Gulabgarh; 105 in Block Thuroo, 40 in Block Arnas; 44 in Block Pouni and 49 in the remaining blocks have constructed.
As per the scheme guidelines, the funds are transferred to beneficiaries through DBT mode after the field functionaries geo-tag the houses. The total amount of Rs.130000 is provided to each eligible beneficiary under the scheme for construction of the house.
The district has also generated Funds Transfer orders of Rs 1.25 Crore which will shortly be disbursed among the beneficiaries. Besides, a PMAY-G beneficiary also avails the benefit of SBM unit and 95 days workdays under MGNREGA from the Government.
During the meeting, the DC also reviewed the stage wise physical and financial progress made under the scheme in rural and urban areas besides the bottlenecks impending smooth construction of the houses.
He instructed the BDOs and the officers dealing in urban areas for conducting regular visits in the field to monitor the progress of houses to ensure completion of all houses by this year end. He said every type of information related to the scheme is required to be kept in public domain in order to minimize complaints.
Threadbare discussion was also held in the meeting on the status of households surveyed under left out category of AWAS plus for which DC instructed to ascertain the eligibility criteria and cover only genuine people in the scheme.
