Bold Decision
10/6/2021 9:46:50 PM
Kishtwar administration has taken a bold decision by asking officials not to issue ration or health cards without a COVID-19 vaccination certificate. This move can go a long way in ending the vaccine hesitancy among the left out people.
The administrations of the other districts in Jammu and Kashmir should take a cue from Kishtwar administration and issue a similar order so that left out people will be left with no other option other than to get vaccinated.
People need to realize that vaccinations are the only way to fight out the virus. Getting vaccinated has helped in preventing the third wave of COVID-19 and it appears that people have almost won the battle against the virus. But there is no chance for complacency. People need to follow the COVID-19 sops in letter and spirit till the virus is defeated completely.
For the past two years the world has been grappling with the pandemic but wherever the people have come forward and have got vaccinated it has helped in controlling the infection.
In Jammu and Kashmir vaccination drive has been going on in full swing. People who were hesitant to get vaccinated earlier too are coming forward but there are still a few people left who don’t want to get vaccinated.
The country has entered an endemic phase and we are at the stage where a final assault has to be launched to defeat the COVID-19. It’s high time for people to realize that they cannot run away from vaccines. During the past two years, the virus has mutated in many ways and has given many surprises to the people.
The government has taken many decisions to ensure that people give up vaccine hesitancy. The decision to withhold the important documents like ration and health cards could prove to be a very good move to make people realize that we can’t live with COVID-19 forever and they can’t just hide behind the excuses. Till now, it has been proven beyond doubt that the vaccines are safe and there are no side effects. All the rumours about vaccines being unsafe stand dispelled. The government needs to take more stringent measures to provide COVID-19 jabs to the left out population and people also need to cooperate and understand.
