GDC Sidhra organizes online inter-college photography competition

JAMMU, Oct 6: ECO-Club of Government Degree College Sidhra under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma organised Online Inter-college Photography Competition to commemorate "World Wildlife Week 2021" under the banner of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. "Birds in Urban Habitat, Bird Tree Relationship and Backyard Wildlife" were the themes offered for the activity. The theme of this year's wildlife week is "Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet" as a way to highlight the central role of forests, forest species and ecosystem services in sustaining the livelihood of hundreds of millions of people globally, and particularly of indigenous and local communities. Number of students from various colleges of Jammu Division participated in the event.
The participants were judged by Dr. Harpreet Kour, Head, Department of Political Science and Prof. Mussarat Chowdhary, Head, Department of Economics of the College. In the Photography competition Vishal Chandan of B.Sc. Sem V, GDC Reasi and Angraz Singh of B.A Sem V, GDC Udhampur shared the first position. The second position was bagged by Kashif Kamran of B. Com Sem I, GDC Sidhra while the third position was shared by Nighat Malik of B.Sc. Sem V of GDC Reasi and Sumriti Devi of M.A Economics, Sem II, University of Jammu.
