| Northern Railway felicitates winners, inaugurates new wresting academy | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 6: General Manager, Northern Railway, Ashutosh Gangal inaugurated the newly refurbished Indian Railway Wrestling Academy at Delhi Kishanganj today. Naveen Gulati, Additional General Manager, A K Khandelwal, President, NR Sports Association, Kaustubh Mani, Secretary, NRSA and other senior officers of Northern Railway were present on the occasion.
The wrestling academy has been refurbished with latest equipment to make it fit for Wrestlers to practice. New wrestling mats, Gym equipments and upgraded amenities have been provided in the academy. Olympic medal winners of Northern Railway, Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya were felicitated in the event. Many renowned International and national wrestlers of Northern Railway attended the inauguration function of the reopening of their refurbished parent Wrestling Academy. Wrestling bouts and honoring the mentor Gurus with the traditional Pagdis was also a part of the function.
Speaking on the occasion Gangal congratulated all the Olympic medal winners and wished them luck for their future endeavors. He also exhorted other wrestlers to put in their best to achieve success for Railways and the country. He wished good luck to all the players to improve their performance for bringing laurels to the Northern Railway, Indian Railway and India. |
