KVK Reasi conducts special Swachhata campaign

JAMMU, Oct 6: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi conducted special Swachhata campaign here today at KVK, Reasi campus which was attended by a number of farm women/rural youths of the area. The campaign on cleanness derive was organized under the guidance of Director Extension (DE) of SKUAST-J, Dr. SK Gupta.
All the SOPs pertaining to COVID-19 were strictly followed while conducting the programme. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi warmly welcomed the participants and created awareness on general cleanness at home and farm and urged participants for the adoption of quality farm inputs through which they can generate higher returns.
He also discussed on crop residue management and elaborated the concept waste to wealth. He requested the participants to disseminate this message of cleanness and hygiene to the other farmers of the area and suggested them to participate in this clean India campaign with full enthusiasm. He highlighted the disadvantages of open defecation and suggested the participants to motivate the people to use toilets at their homes and eliminate open defecation.
Dr. Shuja Nabi Qureshi, scientist spoke on soil, water and air conservation and for other natural resources for a clean and green environment. He urged the participants to follow the COVID-19 appropriate behaviour to prevent the spread of the virus. He appealed the participants to make Swacchata a habit in their daily routine whether it is office, home, neighbourhood etc.
