Bureaucrats prefer outsiders over natives, says Jammu industrialist
Land being allotted for medium, large industries; locals seeking land to set up micro, small units sent back, unemployment on rise

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 6: A prominent industrialist of Jammu region Rajesh Jain on Wednesday said that the bureaucrats are ignoring natives in allotment of land for industrial purposes.
Talking to Early Times, Jain said, “Bureaucrats are not paying any attention towards existing, micro and small industries. By doing so they are increasing unemployment and are depriving the sons of the soil of their right to set up their own industrial units.”
He said, “At present the officers are giving preference to outsiders, who can set up medium and large industries.
This is helping the bureaucrats to claim that huge investment is flowing into Jammu and Kashmir.
They are doing so to score brownie points.”
Jain said, “We have met the bureaucrats on many occasions and have apprised them about the fact that the youth who want to set up their units cannot afford medium and large industries, they just require land between one kanal to five kanal, but our pleas haven’t been heard.
Our consistent demand is that the locals should be encouraged to set up micro and small industries and the helmsmen should pay some attention towards the existing industries in the Jammu region.”
