Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 6: The Kashmiri Pandits have strongly denounced the killing of renowned chemist Makhan Lal Bindroo and demanded stern action against the gunmen who carried out the attack on Bindroo on his shop at Iqbal Park in Srinagar on Tuesday evening
Taking part in a protest demonstration a Kashmir Pandit woman said that although Prime Minister Narinder Modi has done wonders for the people of country he has failed to satiate the feelings, emotions and aspiration of the Kashmiri Pandits. The woman said that killing of Bindroo is highly condemnable since he was staying put in Kashmir even after the onset of militancy.
“It is high time that security is provided to the Kashmiri Pandit youth working in the government and private sector in the Kashmir valley. The government talks high of bringing back the Pandits to the valley, but it has failed to secure the lives of the community. What was the fault of Bindroo for which he was killed,” said the woman protester.
The woman protester said that Bindroo has been serving the people of Kashmir through his profession of dispensing medicines among the different communities living in the Kashmir valley but still then he was killed. She said that given the volatile situation it would be practically impossible for Kashmiri Pandits to return to the valley.
Yet another woman protester said that since a good number of Kashmiri Pandits are working in Kashmir the government is duty bound to provide them the security. She said that the community members are willing to go back to the valley provided enough security measures are made in this regard.
