BGSBU organizes webinar on Artificial Intelligence

RAJOURI, Oct 7: Department of Information Technology, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri organized a webinar on "Artificial Intelligence: Emerging Trends and Applications". The Webinar was organized to open the window for scholars about the emerging trends and future developments of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. More than 280 participants from twenty five different countries registered and participated in the Webinar.
Prof Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University applauded the efforts of the department for organizing the webinar. In a statement Prof Akbar mentioned that artificial intelligence is taking an increasingly important role in our life and is changing the world around us. Prof. Akbar said that the webinar has provided an opportunity to students, researchers and faculty members to learn the emerging tools and trends in AI and its application in our day to day life. Prof. Akbar mentioned that given the huge opportunities in the field of AI, Educational institutions need to ensure that a wider group of people learn artificial intelligence and BGSBU can play an important role in bridging this gap.
Prof D Doreen Robin, Director, Computational Intelligence Research Foundation (CIRF), Chennai was the expert speaker who delivered a thought provoking lecture on the current scenario and future scope of the topic. During her interactive lecture she provided insight about various facets of Artificial Intelligence, the emergence of AI as a far reaching discipline and the way it has been increasingly influencing almost all facets of our day to day life. She called upon the young scholars and faculty members to explore the unending potential of this wonderful science and seek to find solutions to various problems mankind is facing today.
Prof Iqbal Parvez, Dean Academic affairs and Co-Patron of the webinar, in his inaugural address deliberated on the efforts the University is making to make it a place of great learning in the serene hills of Rajouri. In his address, he provided an overview of the way AI and Machine Learning are helping to make various aspects of life sciences effective and efficient.
Dr Tasleem Arif, Head, Department of Information Technology welcomed the dignitaries, speakers and the participants. Satish Kumar, Assistant Professor coordinated the webinar and Ed Gowhar, Lecturer proposed a formal vote of thanks.
